Supporting our community by giving back
As a not-for-profit health fund, we’re on a mission to improve the health and wellbeing of South Australians.
We look for ways to give back to our community and create real impact our members can be proud of.

We’re on a mission to create a better state of health for our members and our wider South Australian community.
Research shows that the social determinants of health can be more important than health care or lifestyle choices in influencing health. Numerous studies suggest that social determinants of health account for between 30-55% of health outcomes*. This includes education, food insecurity, housing, basic amenities and the environment, social inclusion and access to affordable health services of decent quality.
With the cost-of-living weighing on so many in our community, you don’t need to look far to see the reality of the statistics. Cost-of-living pressures significantly impact mental health, food poverty, rough sleeping, domestic abuse, period poverty and learning outcomes.
So, what are we doing about this?
Our people have
volunteered 441 hours
since 2023.
We proudly support
7 South Australian community
organisations helping South Aussies.
We provide over
150,000 breakfasts
for SA students every year
through KickStart for Kids.
No one knows how to support a community better than those who live in it. We work with passionate local organisations to improve health outcomes in South Australia.
Treasure Boxes do incredible work to support South Australian women, children and families in need.
Not being able to access healthcare and everyday toiletry items means a loss of routine and a higher chance of a decline in health. With cost-of-living impacting so many in our community, Treasure Boxes have seen an unprecedented need for their services.
These donations ensure the women and families accessing their services can receive everyday items to maintain healthy routines.
Foodbank is the largest provider of food relief in South Australia. They support the community by sourcing food and providing it to people in need. For every $1 donated to Foodbank, three breakfasts can be created.
In addition to staff volunteering and supporting their Crisis Fund, we support Foodbank to get fresh fruit and veg into schools across the state.
KickStart for Kids is fighting food poverty in SA. They provide over 50,000 breakfasts per week to school children across 350 schools in South Australia.
Rain or shine, our people volunteer each Monday morning to run the Breakfast Club at Parafield Gardens Primary School. We prepare and serve breakfast for students every week to make sure they start their day right.
Keeping kids active is key to healthy growth and development. With the cost-of-living impacting so many, entry fees have become a barrier to participate in club sports.
Cue AFYC. The Adelaide team is founded on one goal: provide top-tier training and opportunities to aspiring footballers, no matter their situation. They provide quality coaches and nominal participation fees so every child has the opportunity to thrive in a supportive environment and play soccer.
As their major sponsor, we can’t wait to cheer the club on when they debut in the Football SA MiniRoos competition for the first time this year!
We’ve developed meaningful partnerships with charities focused on delivering better health outcomes for a wide range of individuals across our community and the developing world, including eye health projects and supporting women experiencing homelessness.
In addition to our Corporate Impact Partners, we are proud to get behind local organisations throughout the year.
We have worked with:
Adelaide Fringe ‘Arts Unlimited’
Health barriers significantly impact social connection and mental health outcomes, which effect overall development, so we wanted to support those who need it most to join the best time in Adelaide – the 2025 Fringe season.
Through the Adelaide Fringe Foundation, ‘Arts Unlimited’, we donated show tickets to children, teenagers and young families impacted by cancer or health issues. Whether they were undergoing medical treatment themselves or navigating a parent or siblings’ diagnosis, these tickets were an opportunity to connect with friends and family, which would reduce isolation, create social connection and provide a much-needed break.
Catherine House
Catherine House offers crisis, longer term accommodation and support services for women experiencing homelessness.
All programs and services are recovery-orientated and provide trauma informed care.
Catherine House deals with the immediate issues created by homelessness and supports women in planning a future that helps her sustain housing and builds a life that is meaningful and purposeful for her.
Sight for All
Sight for All focuses on collaborative eye health projects in key communities and countries. Their projects are based on four fundamental humanitarian strategies – collaborative research, infrastructure support, sustainable education and the promotion of eye health.
Their visionary teams have been or are currently involved in delivering eye health programs in Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Lao, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
