We’re delaying your annual premium increase

We know that cost of living pressures continue to impact members, and that keeping your health cover affordable is one of the ways we can support our members through difficult times. Between 1 October 2022 and 31 March 2023 we reduced premiums for all members by 5%.

Each year in April, private health insurers review and adjust premiums in line with rising costs of health care. As a member-owned fund, we always keep our increases to the minimum required to continue to pay claims.

This year, we’ve made the decision to continue to support you by delaying the annual premium increase until 1 October 2023 – that’s another six months of premium relief.

This means that your premium will revert to the standard 2022 rate from 1 April and will now apply until 30 September 2023.

We’ll be in touch before October to let you know what the new rate will be.

Pre-pay and save is available

Ask us about our pre-payment option which lets you lock in your premium until 31 July 2024 at the 2022 standard rate. Pre-payment is available until 29 September 2023.

Please note that the 5% reduction does not apply to pre-payment, and that pre-payment is not available for premiums paid by payroll deduction.

We’re supporting eligible members with cash payments towards your out-of-pocket hospital costs

If you held an active Health Partners Hospital policy on 30 June 2022 and need to be admitted to hospital between 1 July 2022 and 31 December 2023, we’ll give you $250 cash-back to ease the burden of out-of-pocket cost including doctor gaps and private x-ray or imaging fees. You’ll need to have an active hospital policy at the time of your claim to receive the payment.

Why do premiums increase annually?

As healthcare costs continue to rise, it’s necessary for us to increase premiums in order to continue paying your claims.

As a not-for-profit fund, we will always keep any premium increases to the absolute minimum necessary to ensure we can continue delivering you high quality cover that remains affordable and great value.
