Health Partners is pausing the premium increase until next financial year.

It’s never been more important to have access to quality healthcare. That’s why at Health Partners, we’re doing health insurance right by keeping it affordable for all Health Partners members.

Once a year health funds can change their premiums, which usually come into effect on 1 April.

No premium increase until next financial year

We are pleased to advise the next Health Partners premium changes will be delayed until 1 July 2021.

We contacted members in March 2021 with the details specific to your level of cover.

Affordability matters now more than ever

As a not-for-profit health fund, we focus on giving back to our members in every way possible. Throughout 2020 and during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve worked hard to improve affordability and give back to our members.

All members were given financial support in 2020, through reduced premiums between April-July 2020 and postponing the premium increase to 1 October 2020.

We’re continuing to provide options and relief to members facing financial hardship or unemployment.

We thank our members for trusting us to care for their health cover, and continued membership.

A look at why premiums increase

With health inflation sitting at around 3.1% per annum and well above general inflation (1.7% in Dec 2019),
health funds are paying more for health care.

Here’s a glance at what’s contributing to higher health care costs.

Health insurance premium increase questions (FAQs)

No. The next Health Partners premium change is delayed until 1 July 2021.

If you receive the Australian Government Rebate on private health insurance as a reduction of your premiums you will notice a small increase in your premium from 1 April 2021. This is because the rebate is set to decrease, thereby the Government will be contributing less towards your premium.

These changes will apply automatically and there is nothing you need to do.

With no obligation to shareholders, we can focus on what really matters – keeping our premiums increases to a minimum to improve the affordably and value of private health insurance for our members.

We contacted members in March 2021 with the details specific to your level of cover.

Ask us about our pre-payment option which lets you lock in your current premiums for up to 18 months. Available until 28 June 2021.
