What’s changing?
We’ve adopted accreditation with AUSactive as our provider recognition criteria for Gym & Fitness. From 1 July 2025, we’ll only recognise accreditation with AUSactive, as they meet the government provider recognition criteria for Gym & Fitness.
What does this mean for our members?
We’ve contacted affected members who previously claimed Gym & Fitness with providers not accredited by AUSactive.
If you received communication from us about this, we’ll continue to cover you until 31 December 2025 under a six-month grace period so you can continue your health management program with your current provider*.
From 1 January 2026, you won’t be able to claim with these providers unless they become accredited by AUSactive.
We want to make sure you get support that works for you, so we’ve also written to your service provider to let them know they currently don’t qualify for private health insurance benefits but can get accredited. This means you would be able to continue your health management program with them. We recommend you speak to them directly if you have any questions about their eligibility or accreditation.
If you’d like to see alternative providers in your area who are private health insurance eligible, head to the AUSactive website. Simply look up your post code in the Search bar and under ‘Refine Results’, click ‘Private Health Fund Eligible’.
