Your Health Partners card now on your phone

Each family member listed on the policy who is 18 years or older and has a physical card issued to them) is eligible to download and use their own digital membership card.

Once your membership is active in the system and you’re eligible to claim, you’re good to go!

Head to the Health Partners app (heads up: if you already have the app, make sure you have the latest version of the app downloaded).

Set up your digital card on iPhone (iOS)

• Open and sign-in to the Health Partners app
• Tap Add your membership card to Apple Wallet on the home screen and follow the prompts.
  (You can also find this option under Digital card in the left menu.)
• Your digital card will appear on the screen (this means you’re all set up).
• Your digital card will automatically sync to your Apple Watch once it has been added to your iPhone.

Set up your digital card on Android

• Open and sign in to the Health Partners app.
• Go to Digital card from the left menu.
• Follow the prompts. You can also choose to enable Tap-to-Claim, which lets you claim without opening the app in future.
• Your Health Partners digital card will appear on the screen once you’re set up.

To register, have your Health Partners membership number and personal details ready.

You can find your membership number a few ways:

• In the Health Partners app or portal:
  Head to Cover details; OR
• In Apple Wallet:
  Open your Health Partners card, then look in the top-right corner of the pass; OR
• On your physical card:
  Your membership number is printed on the back of your card.

For iOS users, you can view this information on the back of your digital card. Simply view the digital card in the Apple Wallet and tap the three dots (…) or on info (i) on your screen to see all members covered and their claiming positions.

For Android users, you’ll find this information in the app – on the same screen as your Health Partners digital card, near the bottom of the page.

You can tap your digital membership card at recognised providers, including our participating providers, with a HICAPS or HealthPoint terminal to claim your Extras benefits on the spot.

A small number of providers use iSoft terminals, which don’t support ‘tap-and-claim’ with a digital card. If this happens, you can:

• Use your physical membership card, or
• Lodge your claim through the Health Partners app or portal.

Also, you can show your digital card at participating pharmacies to claim benefits or get discounts.

Note: the pharmacist may ask you to confirm your membership and provide proof of identity.

With your digital card, you can tap your phone to make contactless claims at Extras providers that use a HICAPS or HealthPoint terminal. It’s quick, easy and means you don’t need to carry your physical card.

If you’ve just joined Health Partners, you can start using your digital card as soon as you’re eligible to claim.

For iOS devices and Apple Watch:

To process your health claim with iPhone or Apple Watch:

1. On iPhone with Face ID and Apple Watch, double click the Side Button.
2. On iPhone with Touch ID, double click the Home Button from the Lock Screen.
3. Choose your Health Partners pass in Wallet.
4. Hold iPhone or Apple Watch near reader.

If you have multiple members on your card, you can get the Patient Number / Dependant Code by tapping the three (...) dots or info (i) and selecting Pass Details button when viewing the pass in the Apple Wallet, or from the Health Partners app > Digital Cards menu option.

And remember you can use Apple Pay for any gap payments if the merchant accepts card payments.

Both digital and physical cards can be used to claim at providers with HICAPS or HealthPoint terminals, depending on your eligibility (e.g. financial status, cover and available limits).

For Android devices:

Your card isn’t stored in Google Wallet. Instead, you can claim on the spot using one of two easy options:

Option 1: Tap-to-Claim (home screen shortcut)

• Tap the Tap-to-Claim shortcut from your phone’s home screen – no need to open the app.
  You’ll need to enable Tap-to-Claim in the Health Partners app first.
• Hold your phone near the HICAPS or HealthPoint terminal.

Note: you’ll be prompted to turn on Tap-to-Claim when you set up your digital card.

Option 2: Through the Health Partners app

• Open the app and tap on your digital membership card.
• Hold your phone near the HICAPS or HealthPoint terminal.

The provider will ask for your two-digit Patient Number / Dependant Code – it’s next to your name on the digital card.

Both digital and physical cards can be used to claim at providers with HICAPS or HealthPoint terminals, depending on your cover and available limits.

Yes, if your provider accepts contactless payments through your digital wallet, you can use it to pay the gap amount after you’ve claimed.

• For Apple devices:
  You can use Apple Pay on your iPhone or Apple Watch. Just make sure your payment card is added to your Apple Wallet.

You’ll see your Health Partners benefit applied on the provider’s terminal straight away – you’ll just need to pay any gap amount if there is one.

You can also view your claim confirmation in the Health Partners app or portal under Claims → History.

Absolutely!, You can still use your physical card if you have one.

Yes – where you have authority and are present, you can claim on behalf of other insured members on your policy by selecting their correct two-digit patient code. You can’t claim for any person who is not insured on your policy

A heads up that providers may ask to see the screen to confirm the name and code (e.g., glasses for your son = code 05). Misuse (including presenting an incorrect code) might result in reversal of benefits and recovery of overpaid amounts.

Your privacy and data security is our top priority, so your digital membership card is protected with industry-standard encryption and strict security controls.

When you add your card to Apple Wallet, your information stays on your device and is encrypted. Any details sent to a HICAPS or HealthPoint terminal are also encrypted – and Apple doesn’t receive any transaction information. Learn more at Apple Privacy.

For Android users, your digital card is stored securely in the Health Partners app. It’s accessed through the app or the Tap-to-Claim shortcut – not Google Wallet. Your digital card is only for you. Each adult needs their own login and card. And just a heads up, that providers may ask for ID.

Nope! Your digital membership card will still work as usual. It stays active in the app even if your physical card is lost or damaged. 

If you lose your physical card, please order a replacement to keep your membership secure. You can request one through the Health Partners app, portal, or by calling us on 1300 113 113.

You can access your digital card in the Health Partners app to make fast, contactless claims – no need to wait for a physical card.

If you’d like a physical card, you can order one anytime through the Health Partners app or portal. To order a new card:

In the portal:

1. Log in to the member portal.
2. Select Membership from the left menu.
3. Click “Request a card”.
4. Choose the person you’d like the card for.
5. Click “Place order”.
   

In the app:

1. Open the app and tap the menu (☰).
2. Select “Membership”.
3. Choose the person you’d like the card for.
4. Tap “Request a card”.

All cards are sent to the policyholder’s address. If you’d like it sent somewhere else, please call us on 1300 113 113.

Yes. Any changes you make to your policy – like adding or removing members or changing your cover – will automatically update on your digital membership card.

For iOS users, we recommend keeping automatic updates turned on when you add your digital card to your Apple Wallet. This ensures your card always shows your latest policy and membership details.

Yes, you can! Just be mindful that the way it works is slightly different on iOS and Android. For example:

• Hospital Single membership, and
• Extras Family membership
  

You’ll need to sign in to each membership account separately in the Health Partners app and set up a digital card for each one first.

On iOS (Apple Wallet):

• You can store multiple digital cards under your name in Apple Wallet. Each card will reflect the membership you set it up from.

On Android:

• You’ll need to sign in to the relevant membership in the app each time you want to claim.
• This means switching between memberships if you want to claim from a different policy.

If you move from one Health Partners membership to another (for example, from Single to Couple or Family) your old membership will be cancelled, and your existing digital card will become inactive.

To keep claiming, you’ll need to:

1. Re-register and sign in to the Health Partners app using your new membership details, and
2. Set up your new digital card in the app.

Once you’ve added your new card, you can start claiming straight away.

You won’t be able to claim until your policy is up-to-date. Please call us on 1300 113 113 to get back up-to-date. Your digital card will work again as soon as your payment is processed.

Your digital card should update automatically through your Apple Wallet. To check it’s showing your latest details, you can:

• Open your Health Partners card in Apple Wallet
• Tap the three dots (…) or Info (i)
• Swipe down on the screen to refresh the card
• If needed, turn Automatic Updates off and back on again

On Android:
Your digital card updates automatically through the Health Partners app. To make sure everything is current, simply:

• Open the Health Partners app
• Go to Digital card

If your policy has recently changed and the card or other details don’t look right, simply close and reopen the app.

If you see a message like “You can’t claim right now”, it usually means your policy needs to be updated in our system before a digital card can be issued. If this happens, please call us on 1300 113 113.

You can enable or disable the Tap-to-Claim feature at any time. To turn it on:

• Open the Health Partners app.
• Go to Digital card from the left menu.
• When your digital card appears, tap the settings cog in the top-right corner.
• Enable Tap-to-Claim.
• Once enabled, you can simply tap your phone at supported terminals without opening the app.

If the option doesn’t appear, your device or Android version may not support Tap-to-Claim. Let us know if you need help and we’ll be happy to assist.

Your Health Partners digital card is protected by your Health Partners login and your device’s security settings (such as a Face ID or fingerprint).

Use Find My iPhone on the web or through the Find My app on another Apple device to locate or remotely erase your phone.

Most Android phones have a Find My Device feature that lets you locate, lock or erase your phone remotely. You can also contact your mobile provider for help.

There are a few reasons why your claim might be declined:

• Your policy isn’t up-to-date, or you’re not covered for the service
• You haven’t served your waiting periods yet
• You’ve reached your yearly benefit limit.

You can check your Benefit limits in the Health Partners app or member portal.

Note: Some benefit limits aren’t yet visible in the app or portal, but we’re working to make this feature available for more services soon.
