Affordable Hospital Cover.

For total peace of mind, Gold Hospital and Gold Value Hospital with Maternity have no exclusions*. So you’re covered no matter what you need to go in for.

Or if there are things you know you don’t need and you want to keep your premiums lower, we’ve got your back with our Gold Value Hospital excluding Maternity, Silver Hospital and Bronze Hospital covers.

And you can rest assured that you’re covered in private hospitals Australia-wide.
In fact Health Partners have better hospital coverage than most of the for-profit health funds.

Avoid paying more later.

Depending on your age and income there might also be financial benefits to getting hospital cover sooner, like avoiding the LHC and Government's Medicare Levy Surcharge.

What is hospital cover?

Hospital policies help cover the cost of in-hospital treatment, such as fees charged by your doctor and the hospital when you are treated as a private patient in private and public hospitals.

But it's not just about money, it's about having a choice when it comes to your health. Hospital cover gives you options, like:

  • choosing your own doctor
  • shorter waiting times for elective surgery
  • choosing the timing of your treatment.

Plus, you can access various programs outside of hospital to assist with improving your overall health and wellbeing.

Products as of 1 March 2017:

We offer five levels of hospital cover with benefits ranging from top level cover to just the basics, so you can choose the level of cover that suits your needs.

Limits, waiting periods, restrictions and exclusions may apply. Benefits vary according to cover level; refer to individual cover details and the Health Partners PDS for more information. For full details on our Hospital products, see our product sheets below:

The Government Lifetime Health Cover (LHC) loading

LHC is a loading on top of the standard premium you pay for health insurance, if you don’t take out hospital cover by 1 July following your 31st birthday. If you wait until after you’re 31 you’ll pay an extra 2% loading for each year you wait, up to a maximum loading of 70%.

The Medicare Levy Surcharge

This surcharge imposed on people who earn above a certain level of income and who don’t have private hospital cover, in addition to the standard Medicare Levy of 2% that is paid by most Australian taxpayers to fund Medicare. The family income threshold is increased by $1,500 for each child after the first.
