Responding to an increase in demand for its health-related services, Health Partners has announced plans for construction of a new ‘health hub’ to meet the needs of its growing southern suburbs membership.
Health Partners CEO Byron Gregory says a high concentration of young families in suburbs such as Morphett Vale, Woodcroft and Seaford has seen demand for its services growing at more than double the rate of the rest of the state.
The local, not-for-profit health insurer’s expansion plans were approved this week by the Onkaparinga Council, providing a new lease of life for the rundown site.
Health Partners CEO Byron Gregory says it’s an exciting project both for the health fund and the local community, delivering not only enhanced services but also additional employment.
“It will support a number of jobs during the construction phase and once operating will provide ongoing employment for 33 people,” he says.
“It’s about providing access to affordable, high-quality healthcare services, staffed by leading practitioners, where and when people need it most.”

Health Partners will take up the entire ground level of the planned two-storey, 1500 square metre building, which embraces the latest in design principles.
The new ‘health hub’ will be home to a dental centre of excellence, doubling capacity from its existing site at Woodcroft from four dental suites to eight.
“It will further cement our position in the market as the largest provider of private dental services in South Australia, with more than 65-thousand consultations provided to members annually,’’ Mr Gregory says.
The building will also house a new flagship optical store, offering the latest in diagnostic equipment, together with a huge selection of leading eyewear brands such as Tiffany, Prada and Dior.
“These state-of-the-art optical and dental services will be accessible by all in the community, while members will also have access to health insurance member services onsite.”
Health Partners will be looking for a complementary business or businesses to take up residence on the second floor of the building.
Building works began before Christmas 2016.
