The Federal Government plans to means test the 30% Rebate on Private Health Insurance. This would affect singles earning more than $83,000 per year and families earning more than $166,000 per year. As well as reducing the rebate for high income earners, the Government also wants to increase the Medicare Levy Surcharge should they choose to drop their insurance.

What you can do
If you don’t want to pay more for your Private Health Insurance, contact your local Federal Members of Parliament and ask them to vote against means testing the Rebate.
